Collaborative issue of Chanced Arm mag/a-zine, working with students on the Magazine Journalism and Publishing course at London College of Communication (UAL).
Each student developed their own publications based on ethos behind Chanced Arm, and then we brought together a selection of their content to create a collective issue, that was then distributed across London.
This issue of Chanced Arm was Shortlisted for ‘Student magazine of the year’ at the Stack Magazine Awards 2017.
We were invited to work with a group of second year Magazine Journalism and Publishing students at London College of Communication on a Special issue of Chanced Arm. The students all picked themes and worked on individual publications. Once they had commissioned and produced their own content, and started on their designs, a selection of material from each student’s publication was brought together to form an issue of Chanced Arm. The students utilised the college’s excellent print facilities, including letterpress and large format printing, while Chanced Arm was printed on the college’s offset litho press. The student’s were able to see the publication on press, and be taken through the print process – helping them to better understand the print process.
Photos of some of the students publications can be found on Chanced Arm’s instagram.
